Axon Idea Processor

Mind Mapping® is a popular graphical technique, invented (and copyrighted) by Tony Buzan in the UK. He says "a mind map consists of a central word or concept, around the central word you draw the 5 to 10 main ideas that relate to that word. You then take each of those child words and again draw the 5 to 10 main ideas that relate to each of those words." You can find more on his methods at http://www.buzancentre.com/thinking.html

The Axon Idea Processor takes these concepts and adds many associated thinking aids to develop its Visualization Tool for Thinkers. This is described as a sketchpad for visualizing and organizing ideas. The Idea Processor exploits visual attributes such as: color, shape, size, scale, position, depth, shadow, link, icon, etc. Visual cues facilitate recall, association, and discovery. Diagrams help you to model and solve complex problems. Visualization reinforces your short term memory.

It is said to help in making Higher Abstractions - Ideas and diagrams are the basic abstractions of the Axon Idea Processor. Ideas are shown as graphical objects and their relationships are shown as links. You get the big picture at all times, and details can be hidden from view.
